For over two decades, The Chocolate Ox has been a beloved candy destination, bringing joy to locals and visitors alike. It all began in 2003, when Rob and Loriese Stoll turned their shared love for sweets into something special. Inspired by their favorite childhood treats—root beer barrels for Rob and ice cream for Loriese—they purchased what was then the Nisswa Country Store and transformed it into a nostalgic candy shop filled with treats, laughter, and memories.
A Sweet Tradition Since 2003
In 2023, after years of building The Chocolate Ox into what it is today, Rob and Loriese passed the torch to Kelsey Bean—a name that has been part of the Ox family since the very beginning. Kelsey started as an employee when the shop first opened and quickly became an essential part of its heart and soul. With her bubbly, sweet, and upbeat personality, she was the obvious choice to continue the legacy.
Now, as the new owner, Kelsey is deeply involved in every aspect of the shop, constantly working to elevate the experience while preserving the charm that makes The Chocolate Ox so special. She’s hands-on, always around, and loved by both customers and staff alike—because who better to run a candy shop than someone who embodies the joy and warmth it brings?
